Lead, plan, guide, manage and administer ICT enterprise application and development services by implementing gap analysis and assessment, IT application development, incident and problem management, systems integration, database administration, and project management to ensure standardization, optimization, and proper use of enterprise applications and services across all university operations.
Gap analysis and assessment
Lead, plan and guide gap analysis and assessment by (i) determining gap analysis between IT and university requirements using data analytics and (ii) managing the structure and flow of the academic work process to identify potential application solutions to assess processes, determine requirements, and provide data-based recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders.
Direct, plan, guide and manage the development of computer applications by (i) coordinating and supervising the design, development and execution activities of database, information system and software applications and (ii) managing end-to-end IT application enhancement and enhancement initiatives, support and upgrading to ensure rapid and streamlined value added to operations across the university.
Application incident and problem management
Lead, plan and manage IT application incident management by (i) planning and coordinating all activities required to execute, monitor and report on the process, (ii) monitoring incidents to ensure that SLAs are met, (iii) ) establishing cycles of continuous process improvement where the performance of processes, activities, procedures and supporting technology are reviewed and improved, as necessary, to assess the performance of a service and provide feedback to improve quality of service.
System and database administration
Direct, plan and administer the system and database by (i) managing capacity planning, installation, configuration, database design, migration, performance monitoring, security, troubleshooting, data backup and recovery, and (ii) managing computer application security through user access controls to ensure system availability in support of the day-to-day operation of the university.
Lead, plan, and manage system integration by (i) managing the assessment, (ii) designing system integration requirements, and (iii) implementing the integration plan as required to help university operations to achieve operational excellence.
End user training
Lead, execute and support the end-user training framework by improving structured training programs by identifying current requirements and reviewing training modules to ensure training delivered is in line with the latest IT trends and technologies commercial applications.
IT project management (application project delivery)
Manage, plan and administer the implementation of end-to-end IT application project delivery by (i) monitoring and tracking progress, project timelines and budget estimates, (ii) managing initiatives and improvement interventions, (iii) analyzing gaps and (iv) recommending the best solutions and improvement initiatives to ensure that projects meet stipulated objectives and targets in a timely manner and add value to the operations of the l ‘university.
Manage the administration of the section by carrying out all administrative tasks such as budget and leave management and staff training and performance evaluation and mentoring and guiding other managers in day-to-day tasks to ensure the proper functioning and continuity of operations of the section.
- Recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field
- More than 8 years of experience in a relevant field
- A professional qualification and a higher diploma would be an added advantage
